Using these Open Water Training Lanes you will be able to build up the fitness required to take on bigger goals, such as the 400m Open Water Swimming course. There are two lengths of Open Water Training Lanes which are 25m and 50m, both with very wide lanes.
Open Water Pools
The Open Water Pools are great for people who are new to Open Water Swimming and are nervous of going into lake swimming. There are two Open Water Pool lengths of 25m and 50m, both with very wide lanes.

WHAT IS THE SWIM TEST?
All new swimmers to Shepperton Splash will be required to attend an Open Water Swimming Induction and Swim Test Session. In this session, swimmers will be shown the courses and talked through safety procedures. This gives us an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have.
After the induction, swimmers will be required to complete a 50m swim test before being allowed to swim anywhere else in the lake.
WHEN DO I ARRIVE?
Our open swim sessions last for 1 hour, but please arrive half an hour before your session time. This gives us time to give you your safety briefing and take part in the swim induction if needed.
DO I NEED A WETSUIT?
Open water swimming is a sure-fire way to warm you up! If the weather isn’t quite as favourable, or you just fancy staying EXTRA warm you can hire one of our wetsuits. We’d definitely advise a wetsuit in the spring and winter months!
