ARE YOU READY TO
ENJOY THE OPEN WATER?

MEET THE REQUIREMENTS

WHAT IS THE SWIM TEST?

All new swimmers to Shepperton Splash will be required to attend an Open Water Swimming Induction and Swim Test Session. In this session, swimmers will be shown the courses and talked through safety procedures. This gives us an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have.

After the induction, swimmers will be required to complete a 50m swim test before being allowed to swim anywhere else in the lake.

WHEN DO I ARRIVE?

Our open swim sessions last for 1 hour, but please arrive half an hour before your session time. This gives us time to give you your safety briefing and take part in the swim induction if needed.

DO I NEED A WETSUIT?

Open water swimming is a sure-fire way to warm you up! If the weather isn’t quite as favourable, or you just fancy staying EXTRA warm you can hire one of our wetsuits. We’d definitely advise a wetsuit in the spring and winter months!

Arrive

Don't be late! Please arrive 30 minutes before your activity.

Check In

Square away the boring stuff, let's get to the good part!

Listen Up

Listen carefully to the Safety Briefing 10 minutes before your activity.

Showtime

It's time for the main event, the wait for the water is over! Let's go!

Arrival

• Please allow plenty of time for your activity by arriving at least 30 minutes before, we like eager beavers at the lake!

• It’s best if you come ready to go so that you can head straight into the action, but there will be changing rooms available if you need them

Check In

• Once you’re on-site, head straight over to Admissions where you’ll be issued your Activity Boarding Band and given the opportunity to purchase Wet Socks if you’d like them. If you’ve reserved a Wet Suit or would like to, you’ll be directed where to go to collect it from here; alternatively, wear swim gear or tight clothing!

Safety

• Your Safety Briefing will be 15 minutes prior to your experience, so please listen out for the designated area for you to meet in.

• To make sure your time with us is safe, all participants must be able to swim 50m with a buoyancy aid.

• Under 16s are required to wear our comfortable Soft Hats for each activity, but they are optional should you wish to use one.

• We ask that you complete your waiver online before arrival which will remain valid on the system for a year to make your next visit even smoother. If you haven’t completed your waiver prior, don’t worry-you can do one with us at check In!

Showtime!

• On the hour, you’ll make your way to the Launch Dock–let’s have some fun!

• Each session lasts for 50 minutes for you to enjoy; you’ll get a warning 10 minutes before the end and then a final alert when the session is over.
