UPPER BODY STRENGTH
Holding yourself up requires a great deal of upper body strength, and when climbing and pulling yourself up onto the obstacles you will have to use these muscles in various ways. Muscles in your arms, forearms and hands are constantly engaged while navigating the obstacles. The main muscles targeted while climbing obstacles are the brachialis and the biceps brachia which are located on the upper part of your arms.
A strong upper body can create good posture, boost your metabolism and improve bone strength.
CARDIOVASCULAR FITNESS
While clambering over various obstacles and conquering different routes, your heart rate will increase. The cardiovascular system will have to work harder to provide your body with the oxygen it needs. Cardiovascular fitness focuses on increasing the ability of your heart, lungs, blood and muscles to take in and transport oxygen while you are partaking in the activity.

LOW IMPACT EXERCISE
Stand up paddleboarding is a very low impact exercise. Therefore, it is unlikely that you will do damage to the tendons and ligaments of your joints. Paddle boarding is particularly useful for runners that are experiencing shin splints or knee and hip pain, yet still need a good exercise to do while healing.
INCREASED STRENGTH
After spending a day out on a paddleboard, it’s natural to feel a little sore all over your body. But soreness is a good thing because that means you are building up your overall body strength. Paddleboarding will activate a wide variety of muscles – from your upper body to your core.
